AI Content Quality & AEO

Your content checked for AI-sounding text and made readable by AI search engines.

The operational problem

More text does not automatically create authority

A page can be technically indexable and still say little that a buyer or answer engine can trust. Generic claims, repeated templates and unsupported expertise make the site easy to skim past.

The audit reads the site as both a skeptical person and a machine: what question the page answers, which experience it demonstrates, whether facts are attributable and whether crawlers can identify the organisation, service and canonical source.

Audit layers

What the content and AEO review examines

Content quality

Generic phrasing, repetition, unsupported claims, missing objections and weak evidence.

Answer structure

Whether important questions receive direct, self-contained and quotable answers.

Technical crawlability

Canonical URLs, robots rules, sitemaps, rendering, status codes and internal links.

Entities and schema

Organisation, people, services, offers, breadcrumbs and FAQs expressed consistently in visible text and structured data.

AI discovery

Crawler access, server-log visibility and supporting files such as llms.txt where they add clarity.

Method

How a page becomes clear and citable

  1. Inventory the public pagesCanonical URLs, purpose, search intent and duplication are mapped before copy is judged.
  2. Read for human trustClaims, examples, specificity, objections and evidence are reviewed page by page.
  3. Read as a crawlerRendering, metadata, links, directives and structured data are checked against the visible content.
  4. Test answer completenessPriority questions are checked for direct answers that stand on their own when quoted.
  5. Prioritize fixes by impactEach recommendation names the page, problem, evidence and proposed repair.
  6. Re-check agreed changesImplemented fixes are crawled again so regressions and incomplete repairs are visible.

Editorial judgement

The rules behind authoritative content

Visible proof beats schema-only claims

Structured data should describe evidence a visitor can also find on the page.

One page needs one clear job

Pages that target the same intent without distinct value compete with one another.

Authority comes from judgement

Specific trade-offs, boundaries and operating rules show expertise better than adjectives.

AEO does not guarantee citation

The work improves clarity, access and evidence; no provider can promise that an answer engine will cite a page.

Fixed start

What the two-week audit delivers

  • Page inventory and intent mapCanonical pages, purpose, overlap and the questions each page should answer.
  • Prioritized content findingsSpecific weak claims, generic passages, missing evidence and recommended rewrites.
  • Technical SEO and AI crawl auditIndexability, metadata, status codes, internal links, directives and crawler visibility.
  • Structured-data reviewEntity and page schemas checked against visible, supportable content.
  • Re-checkA second pass over the agreed fixes records what is resolved and what remains.

Fit

When an AEO audit is—and is not—the right move

A good fit

  • The website has useful experience but individual pages do not demonstrate it.
  • Many pages use the same short template or generic AI language.
  • The team needs one prioritized repair list spanning content, SEO and answer engines.

Not the right fit

  • The expectation is guaranteed rankings or guaranteed AI citations.
  • There is no access to the public site or ability to implement technical fixes.
  • The immediate need is a brand-new website strategy rather than an audit of an existing site.

Where the human approves

You pick the fixes. The AI works through a fixed list of allowed operations; every approval and result is logged.

Search and content questions

Questions a website owner should ask

What is AEO?

Answer engine optimisation makes important information easier for search and AI systems to retrieve, understand and attribute. It combines clear answers, entities, evidence and technical accessibility.

Can you guarantee that ChatGPT or another engine will cite us?

No. The audit can improve crawlability, clarity and source quality, but citation decisions belong to each external engine.

Is llms.txt required?

No. It can provide a concise machine-readable orientation, but it does not replace crawlable HTML, robots rules, sitemaps or authoritative page content.

Do you rewrite the website during the audit?

The audit produces page-level recommendations and example repairs. The scope can include implementing agreed fixes, but that is made explicit before work starts.

How do you detect AI-sounding content?

We look for repeated structures, vague claims, excessive abstraction, missing evidence and language that does not reflect the organisation’s actual decisions or experience.

Experience behind the service

Built from technical SEO and content work

The method combines TechOne content design, technical SEO, structured data, server-log analysis and AI crawler work. It is also the method used to develop this site: concise catalogue pages remain consistent while detail pages carry domain-specific evidence and judgement.
